Heroes of Might and Magic, unless there's another HoMM I haven't heard about.

Seems like there isn't.

I guess it would be a good time to return to modding...

Well, there's Florian Homm who was indicted for investment fraud and spent years on the lam until finally arrested in Italy.  But Heroes of Might and Magic sounds equally plausible :)

True HoMM mod means a union between elves and dwarves. Beware

Also, mod loosely based on Might and Magic "multiverse" may be more interesting, than one based simply on Heroes, since <DELETED BECAUSE OF POSSIBLE HFS>

Darn it, you've spoiled to everyone the potential Hidden Fun Stuff!  :(

Now I'll have to think of something else. Hmmm. I guess if I... no, that's sci-fi too. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I find that modding other Tolkeinesque settings into DF tends to seem kind of pointless and lack flavor. What things in specific were you thinking that HoMM could add to DF?

HoMM is not very Tolkeinesque, though. It's more like a kitchen sink of every single mythological creature mixed in with a underlying sci-fi interpretation which makes it feel very different. Sure, DF already has a kitchen sink of many mythological creatures, but HoMM has even more of those.

Magic would be fun to add, too, though I have no idea how to make, say, a Meteor Shower work without going through weird hoops.
