immigrant question

It's year 3, a few (4 of 20) dwarfes have died has caused the "fortress gets no immigrant this seasons." Does this Condition heal/get repaired over the time or am i stuck with no more immigrants?

I'm pretty sure it will change eventually. I think it is partially wealth based. Have you produced much wealth?

Yeah it depends on the amount of jobs your dwarves are doing. Either creating furniture, objects, nice architecture, jewelry, and whatever else under the Created Wealth of the fortress.
Basically if your fort is industrious and exports nice stuff, then people will flock to live in such a wealthy city to better their own lives. Just like immigration in the real world.

Also the dwarven caravan can't be destroyed while it's leaving the fort, which would put a dent in immigration for upcoming year.
