lever - construction suspended
« on: October 26, 2014, 10:40:12 am »

I am trying to link a lever to a door, as part of a resevoir/well system. When I set up the linkage the construction is always suspended with the message "construction suspended, could not find path." This is in spite of the lever being just down a straight unimpeded corridor from the door. What is going on and how to correct it?

Perhaps the door is locked or forbidden, somehow stopping the mechanic? If anything just dig one of the walls away so he can reach it, and then wall it back up.

First question (okay questions), is the door locked? And it is a door, and you didn't accidentally put something else non-openable there?  Are you sure the level is acessible in general? I've accidentally had my dwarfs remove stairs that I just had them dig, cutting them off until I built new ones.

now you can just set the lever to be pulled repeatedly and have all your dwarves snooze to the sound of slamming doors forever
