Consistent Adventure Mode Crash...
« on: October 08, 2014, 11:54:40 pm »

All I need to do in order to crash adventure mode is to have more target options than menu space.  For whatever reason it doesn't look like my target menu will scroll like other menus.  As a result, if and when I get surrounded, attempting to attack either with a called shot or via directional keys makes the program stop responding.  I don't believe it to be CPU related as I can handle shooting arrows at trolls in the bottom of dark pits.  But if all the trolls are adjacent and I try to attack them using melee then the program sits there and never updates or accepts input.

Anyone else run into this?  Is there a fix or a workaround?   Other than only fighting small numbers of enemies...  I'm kind of pissed because I forgot to save prior to entering an elven forest retreat and I was about halfway through wiping them out with my zombie hordes.  They kept a pack of tame leopards which surrounded me and crashed the program...  Grrrr... Stupid elves.

I dont suffer from it myself, however you should post this in the bugs section (not in the forums, you can see a link to it at the main homepage). Preferably post it with a save they can load where this will happen for you.

That'd be this bug report: http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/mantisbt/view.php?id=8316. Feel free to post a save up in it.

I've also noticed that the target menu doesn't scroll like other pages do, which I suspect is why the freeze is happening. The UI overflows the gamescreen itself and the game freaks out.
