Quick question on 'magma safe' bridges.
« on: October 06, 2014, 06:38:31 am »

Now if I've got this right,
* A bridge made of magma safe blocks is magma safe
* Unless it is connected to something with non-magma safe mechanisms.

But what about if you connect the bridge to a lever, pull the lever once, then deconstruct the lever. Is it safe or unsafe?

If it was linked using an unsafe mechanism, then it is forever unsafe, because deconstructing the lever does not remove the linking mechanism from the bridge itself.

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

it's not about the lever, it's about the mechanism used in the bridge. The lever can be as un-magma safe as you please (as long as it doesnt come into contact with magma)
