Quiver is just like a small backpack. The projectiles can be anywhere.

What about in your eyeball? I would think so, but I'm not sure.

Yep, but you'll need to grab it first I think, with the 'advanced interactions' menu - same menu you use to unstick a weapon that's lodged.

Remember, if you have the bow listed as your primary weapon you can also wield a secondary weapon.  Say a hammer or a sword.  You can drop both weapons and pick up the bow first if its causing issues.
