Adventurer bloodlines? (40.xx)
« on: September 14, 2014, 01:09:38 pm »

Do retired adventurers in 40.xx eventually get married and have kids?  I'd love to set up an adventurer bloodline game, where some dwarven hero retires and fortress succession plays along until one of his/her kids comes of age as a peasant - give him/her some militia training under dear old dad/mom then retire the fortress and pick the kid up as a companion.  If the kid survives, (and try to make him/her survive, bring them home to do it all over again.  Eventually there would be this whole family with a tradition of "wandering in the wilds for a time"...

I think that'd be pretty cool.

Who's willing to make it happen?

Not sure if dying of old age is an honor or a shame for weaponmasters. On the one hand, it means they never got the opportunity to die in glorious battle. On the other hand, it means nothing could beat them in glorious battle.

I suggest that it be attempted in my "Caravans of Tar Rabin" game (look in my sig.)  The forum game seems to have fizzled, so the world is ripe for !!Science!!

well it's double just REALLY REALLY HARD to do in vanilla also there the whole you need to sit and hope your adventurer in fort mode is getting along with everyone else.
on top of that you need to make the adventurer from the same fort which means mashing through backgrounds to align that up.
then there's the case adventurer kids don't get the adventure flag so you don't make new adventurers by breeding.

yeah it's pure waiting for the ai to do stuff.

My main concern with it other than the lag is that someone somewhere along the line will be gay/only looking for a lover and mess it all up  >:(
