I didn't even do adventure mode until 40.06, but I have spent a ton of time in it. I play it for mostly the combat, but the dull people in it sure kill the experience. Unless I'm coming back from something cool, I don't even interact with anyone but my companions. In fact, I feel more inclined to do senseless slaughter in adventure mode, which is odd, because I'm normally the big good guy in games. But fort mode? It's never done anything but thrill me. Yes, my fort is perfectly protected... What? My farmer just had his face ripped off by a werecoyote? Have to fix this... Okay, everything's perfe- a what? A giant bronze ape, with noxious fumes? BRING IT BRITNEY! Okay, he's dead... Why is everyone puking? Fort mode has always given me more to do and master, no matter how long I play, I can never beat everything. After a certain point in adventure mode, you might as well be a god. This doesn't really happen in fort mode, there's always something new. Like, say, a goblin siege walks right into a cloud, and are now a bunch of thralls, riding thrall cave dragons? Yeah.
