What if Jamestown was Designed and ran by DF Players?

Title says it all. What if Jamestown, the first permanent English colony in North America, had been designed and ran by DF players? Would they have fared better? Would the natives be used for trade or just senseless slaughter? Would food have been an issue? Would the native wildlife have been trained to go hunting?
