"Plugin stonesense has no enabled var!" crash solution

Searched the forum, googled, tried to tinker with stonesense myself but still the game crashed every time after this message in the dfhack window. Finnally found some obscure reddit post where it was mentioned that the Text will be text plugin causes the crash for some reason.

What you have to do if you have this crash is go to the MW DF folder, search for: TWBT and delete all the files. You will still get the "Plugin stonesense has no enabled var!"  message but at least now the game wont crash immediately and you will be able to play, but without this awesome plugin...

A temp solution, if anyone has some insight how to fix this better please share in this thread.

Both, but if i had to choose i would rather have TWBT, removing stonesense does nothing to fix this crash

The Stonesense line is always there, it's just a message in red, not really an error repport (stone sense will work just as intended when you fire it).

As far as I know, it just means that stone sense is not configured completely (some tiles/characters without images and such.

It is also important to know that you can disable TWBT without deleting files, via the launcher, the "Items Graphics" is the option.

When you start deleting things in a pack with a launcher that configure things, you are usually in for some troubles later down the line.

Did you change your init somehow to 2D? It doesnt crash because of the "Plugin stonesense has no enabled var!" message, it crashes because your print mode wasnt supporting OpenGL, e.g. it wasnt STANDARD.

Yes i realized my mistake yesterday. It seems like the AMD radeon 6000/7000 series has wonky notebook drivers and/or poor OpenGL support, people are complaining about that a lot. It works on the latest drivers but then the screen flickers randomly, really retarded. Got an older beta + modded version that seems to be working now.
