You know you have never fired a crossbow in your life and no one has ever taught you how to even put one in. or load. But you have trown rocks before so why not trow this crossbow at the fleeing bastard?

You trow the crossbow with all your might nicking him in the back of the ankle and he falls face first against the floor grabbing his souring leg. Deciding to not give him a chance to get up you run after him and grab his neck and attempt to choke him. He fights back by kicking you a few times and slapping your mask. Alas, he falls unconcious and you now have someone that can testify that there was a intruder in the castle. If he were to testify or be found than this could trow a monkeys wrench into the witch's plan, will you risk her wrath knowing..or rather not knowing what she'd do to you.

You look outside via the keyhole to find some guards chatting outside but they don't seem to have heard anything nor are they going to come in. Rather they will see you if you come out. Maybe a disguise will help?

Kill him, hide the body and we should retrieve it later and we'll dump it outside the tavern or some place of ill-repute. Also, take his coin purse and his uniform. Then attempt to find our target. Feel free to come up with something better.

I didn't do it for you, just think of the effort it would have been to grab that club, find you and club you. It just wasn't worth it.  Much easier to bump the thread. Pity about the death though. At least make me go down fighting.
