I was thinking, instead of [COMMON_DOMESTIC] could I do [NEW_DOMESTIC], make a civilization use [NEW_DOMESTIC_PET]? Or are custom tokens not useable?

It depends what you want to do, but with interactions and enough time to properly learn them, you can simulate new tokens.

btw, on the first page of the modding forum are 10 threads by you. Why not use the modding questions thread?

Sorry about that. I'm new to using forums, never really used them, and assumed I could delete them once I got my answer. Didn't mean to do that.

Why would you want to delete them? Others will come along with the same or similar questions in the future, and they might use the search button and find this thread and thus not need to ask the same question a second time.

I was mostly thinking about getting my thing done, not really worrying that others may have the same question. I won't spam the mod thread again, I didn't even think of how many I was posting. Sorry.

There's really no need to be sorry. Just sit down and make a list of questions, and post them together. There's a bigger chance that someone with an experience will pay attention to a good comprehensive post rather than to a lot of random questions, and you want experienced people to answer complex questions, trust me .
