Does your starter pack include any version of DFHack? If so, DELETE IT and wait until a fixed version is available.

It does, thanks for the heads up, I will try it without DFhack. I could play the core game with any mods by downloading it separately so I knew that it probably was one of the mods, now I know which one. Thanks! Looking forward to smash head first to the learning curve
