Ressurecting Dead Dwarf Civ

Are the needed mechanics in place to be able to resurrect a dead dwarven civilization? Can a baron or king be appointed if criteria are met?

I've not formally tried this, but I think the King gets appointed from your starting 7 dwarves in the first month or so...

if there are no noble(s) remaining in your civ they will be appointed from whatever dwarves you have, sometimes starting 7 sometimes first migrant wave (which i think comes anyway, regardless of your civ's status. just hearsay though)

so i guess you could resurrect your civ, though it will take an eternity due to slow children growth rates.

This is correct.  It literally just happened to me about 15 minutes ago.  Had 3 migration waves, and then everybody stopped coming.  Next thing I know, my expedition leader is appointed queen and she's near tantrum level due to not having any of the trappings of royalty.

Sorry, Queeny, but the aquifer dig project is way more important.
