Disabling 2014 new plants?

As many of you know, some of the new plants are not fully implemented. Specifically, Urist McDoesntunderstandhowplantswork will gather an entire plant instead of the individual parts of the plant if you grow it as a crop. Would there be any ill effects if one were to simply remove the plant_crops and plant_garden files from the DF folder? I haven't seen any yet, but I haven't even gotten to my first elvish caravan with them removed.

Obviously, this completely removed them. They aren't just ungrowable, they are completely absent. Would anyone like to help me test the effects of removing these documents?

The old plants and crops seem completely unaffected.

Shouldn't really affect anything, other than removing quite a bit of variety.

Most, if not all of the plants from the last version should still be in plant_standard, which is why they are fine. There aren't many changes to them, other than a few of them gaining new growths, and the trees being reworked.

Just don't try and remove anything from a save file, as that would make the save unplayable.
