Ok wild idea....a setting, in the inti folder, that will allow you to change the range of a necromancers, i.e. seeting to 100 will allow it to besiege any fortress within 100 squares.

Sure, sounds helpful, but no reason to restrict to towers. Same code, if written, should apply also to all civ types (elves range, humans range etc. etc.)

Dwarf fortress in 50 words: You start with seven alcoholic, manic-depressive dwarves. You build a fortress in the wilderness where EVERYTHING tries to kill you, including your own dwarves. Usually, your chief imports are immigrants, beer, and optimism. Your chief exports are misery, limestone violins, forest fires, elf tallow soap, and carved kitten bone.

That's fine too.

Seems like something you'd want in the entity raws. It'd be less convenient, but would allow this control over custom civilizations as well.

That's fine so long as you can still affect a towers range....You know for those that want to fight zombies but don't feel like spending a day genning a world with a tower.

All you have to do is set SECRETS to 0 in the worldgen, and you will have 0 towers in all worlds you gen.

I think that's the opposite of what he wants.

Oh, sorry. I misread.

If you want more towers, copy the secrets and add different spheres. Currently only gods of death and the like give necromancy, so if there are no such gods in your world, you get no towers. But if you add more secrets (all about necromancy) but use different spheres on them, then more gods will bless/curse people with it.

That still doesn't increase the range of towers.
