New to adventure mode, is this strange?
« on: August 05, 2014, 12:26:57 pm »

Everything made some sense as I went out to slay beasts of terror, and conquer the night - after learning how to not get mauled by boogeymen, of course. But today, I've come across a human hamlet... Several of them, 10~. They're almost all devoid of life, minus the one with the human fortress.

It is led by a goblin lord, and a goblin holy wisp, whatever that is.(Im assuming its the female counterpart to the goblin lord) Only a few humans live here, and a few goblins. The nearby dark pits are completely empty as well. And yet, I still find things stranger still.

"You have discovered a lair." Interesting! So I go inside and... Theres nothing but a goblin child here. I'm not sure if his response of "I'm seven!" is amusing or creepy. How does a goblin child get his own lair?

No this is completely normal. First, the Holy Wisp is a religious figure, and the child is probably a werebeast. Something that's probaby important is if it's a human owned town or a goblin owned town. Because if it's a goblin town then the goblins conquered a town and some goblins moved in while some humans stayed. They probably also conquered the other towns, but rather than take them they just destroyed them. That conquering might have also caused a lot of deaths on both sides causing the goblin dark pits to be empty. If it's a human town then it's the same except the humans won and since humans don't like dark pits they just destroyed them. Then since wars generally cause people of the other side to join the civ some goblins entered that human civ and eventually became the majority of the population. Also just like the other scenario it would seem a lot of people died on both sides causing most human towns to be empty. You could probably see what happened in legends mode. I would recommend using legendsviewer if you didn't intend to.

Its a feature. Impregnating booze is a planned tech tree for dwarves and this is a sneak peek at it.
Unless you're past reproductive age. Then you're pretty much an extension of your kids' genitalia

Im curious to know if werebeasts would explain the rather massive ammount of lairs Im starting to bumble into outside the dark pits - I mean given what you said, it'd kind of make sense. They're all goblins, some children, I've found about 6 so far
