Has anyone had success spreading vampirism in .40 ?

I've tried using the same well setup that I successfully used several times back in the older version. It seems that it isn't working. Nobody is getting the 'vampire" tag, and they keep getting hungry/thirsty. I'm using a confirmed vampire (hasn't ate/drank in several seasons, and survived underwater indefinitely), a well above a 1x1 cistern, and his blood is on the center tile.

AFAIK, vampirism can only be spread through a bite now.

Is this the case only for .40.05, or all 40.x?

I'm playing .40.02 and vampires were a major part of my plan :c

I've only tested on .40.05. That is a shame. I wonder if there is a solution.
