I started with a king

I just reclaimed a fort I was losing to not having food and after the 1st few minutes I saw I already had a king to deal with.

if it's the last site in the civ you'll get a monarch pretty soon
If you abandoned and reclaimed, maybe a king was assigned while you were playing and you didnt notice (still going with the last site in the civ) and when you abandoned he was still alive, and happened to come back when you reclaimed?

have no idea how it happened and I don't think it was the last site of the civ. When I made a adventurer I start with other dwarfs.

In my current fort one of the starting 7 was the queen.

Her first act was to demand the construction of figurines.

She's the craftsdwarf.

What happens if she fails to fulfil her own mandate? o.O
