Set Default Room Size?
« on: July 29, 2014, 09:18:37 pm »

Anyone know if it is possible to set the default size for a room (when you select to turn a piece of furniture into a room)?  Ie. Make it auto-flow to the max size possible.

The idea is that when I assign a bed for example, I don't want to use +- to size the room everytime, I just want it to auto flow to the max size (limited by doors, walls, etc.).

I don't know of any way to do this currently, but you could put it in the DFHack suggestion thread.

You could just record an in-game macro. Just put yourself in the room flow selector and hit 'ctrl+r', and then '+'x20 and then 'Enter'. Then when you want to size a new room you just open up the sizing menu again and hit "ctrl+p" (assuming I remember all the keybindings correctly). You can also save the macro for later if you want, at which point you might want to crack open the macro file located somewhere in the DF folder (data, I think) and optimize it as explained here.

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!

Duh, of course, that's going to work. I was thinking you'd have to somehow know when the max size was reached.
