Oh wow. I had a dwarf fail his mood because I didn't have the right thread (not much I could have done, I've had bad luck with moods this fort). He lost it, went berzerk. Unfortunately my crafts workshops are right near the central stairs, between the entry and the dining room, so a lot of traffic. Basically he ran and punched the first guy he saw on the stairs. There was a Marksman passing, decided to light his ass up. Put him down and shot him again for good measure.
For some reason by this time (two or three seconds) there were already three separate brawls ongoing. I ordered my newly founded fortress guard to contain the situation with their training swords and plate, but they never made it in time. A fortress wide brawl had erupted with people being pissed off at friends being bashed or killed left and right. I'm counting the casualties now but six are dead and im pretty certain six or seven beds in my hospital will not be enough :/
I've never seen anything like it. Pretty crazy!
EDIT: The butchers bill stands at seven. Two children were beaten until their heads exploded. They were fighting one another and a mechanic got involved. My mayor got a broken leg. There is a crushed lung, an injured pancreas and numerous broken arms, legs, fingers, toes (about five or six injured dwarves). Wish my doctors would be a bit snappier about first aid!
EDIT: Oh god, one of my newer guardsdwarves is throwing a tantrum. He just lost his wife and two daughters in the brawl and he is clad in steel and weilding a silver war hammer! Look out!
EDIT: Well he didn't use the hammer, but after he punched one of my founding Miners to death, then one of the other Hammerdwarves did for him. Nobody reported it as a crime even with the Fortress Guard rushing to the scene, in fact the only crime reported from the dozen or so killed or wounded was the last tantruming Hammerdwarf, and even then everybody ran so nobody saw him beat the Miner to death with his mailed fist.
