Cool new PCGamer article on DF
« on: July 26, 2014, 06:50:24 am »

http://www.pcgamer.com/2014/07/25/into-the-deep-its-time-to-learn-how-to-play-dwarf-fortress/

I was impressed with how positive the author treated the game... and then at the end, she married the guy who introduced her to DF.  Wow.  That's just awesome  :)

I'm new to succession forts in general, yes, but do all forts designed by multiple overseers inevitably degenerate into a body-filled labyrinth of chaos and despair like this? Or is this just a Battlefailed thing?

There isn't much middle ground between killed-by-dragon and never-seen-by-dragon.

That was a really good article, I wish there were more of these explaining for new players how to do basic stuff and how to approach the game.

All the great gaming sites did articles about Dwarf Fortress, except Gamespot and IGN.

It is for the best.

"The above image may look like a cat walked all over an MS-DOS word processor. What it actually depicts" is exactly what she just said:
