Funny enough this ended up being beneficial to me in my current fort.

After disposing of a Werewarthog, I had a few military dwarves that had been bitten.  When they transformed, they ended up using their wrestling moves (holds, joint locks, etc) instead of biting, and I was able to contain the infection.

I haven't had any combat at all yet. My game keeps crashing.

It seems to me that Toady needs to fix the crashes before the combat :P
