Better conversations
« on: July 11, 2014, 06:44:54 am »

Conversations are a bit eh, currently. Everyone always recycles the same sentences, and I think there's a few ways to make it seem more natural:
Add some useless parts to sentences.
Instead of always just "it's for the best", how about:
  • I think it's for the best
  • It's probably for the best
  • I think it's probably for the best.
And choose between these randomly (including just good ol' "it's for the best")Combined with the usual "It's for the best". Just add a few random adverbs to the reaction sentences to make them feel more natural.

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

This would be good, as well as completely different ones (using positive opinions towards rulers:
I approve of their rule.
Well, they are certainly better than (other group).
Etc.)

It looks like the naming system could be the foundation for a sentence-builder.  The trick is to make sure the resulting sentence still means the same thing that the creature intended to say.

Once you've gotten that, you can simulate a politician dodging questions by taking 300 words to say "no comment."
