When did kobolds become such badasses?
« on: July 13, 2014, 09:45:53 pm »

I'm seeing a lot of really weird things in Legends mode for my world in regards to kobolds.

In particular, they can apparently devour others - including, but not limited to trolls no less!
(and of course do they usual stuff that is stealing things, bringing them to such fun places as the Untrustworthy Cavern - aptly named, hm?)

Is this normal now? Was it normal before? Are kobolds now that scary to face off or are Legends exaggerating?

Well not only kobolds devour other sentient things. In one of my worlds the only dwarven civilization was beaten badly after a few megabeast attacks; then the last dwarf king was killed and devoured by an elf of all things. I wanted to start as a dwarf adventurer to avenge my king but since the civilization was destroyed I couldn't do it :(.

The DF elves have always devoured any sentinent creatures they kill. That is one of the most defining things (next to hateing people using wood) of their culture.

Has that ever happened before?

I have an idea. Let's play a game where you win by being as quiet as possible.
I get it, it's one of those games where losing is fun!
I spend most of your dimension's time outside of your dimension. I can't guarantee followup or followthrough on any comments, ideas, or plans.

In a hole in the ground there lived a dwarf. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a dwarf fortress, and that means magma.
