Is there any way to edit dwarves? I was hoping to change personality, age, name, and skills.

First off if you mean in v0.40.1 no.

If you mean in v0.34.11 that depends on whether you have and use DFhack.

For name in either version you can use nicknames and set up one the init files to replace all current names. It isn't perfect as announcements still list the original name though.

For age in 0.34.11 there is a script for DFhack called rejuvenate by vjek I believe that allows you to change your dwarfs to be twenty. It could probably be modified to whatever age you wanted to set it to but doesn't have that functionality by default. I believe he also has some scripts that give them ideal personalities and maybe even perfect skills I have never used them though.

DFhack also has a rename script that I have never used but may be worth looking into.

I think you can change name, but I don't remember how.
I do know that personality can't be changed at all, but age and skills will obviously change with time.
Since personality, age and skills are actually tied into the game's mechanics, being able to easily edit them would essentially be cheating.

Vjek's scripts ended up being good enough for me. "Make_legendary" and "rejuvenate" can both target a single dwarf, and "make_legendary" can target individual skills.
