I've always heard of people dropping, say, gobbos down 4-5 z levels onto an isolated area and using them for target practice but I just can't seem to manage it. I thought at first, "Oh I'll see if it will let me build a cage on a retractable bridge" and nope. I also mucked about with supports but can't see anything working there so I'm a little stumped. I figured plenty of you folks probably use a system like what I described so it'd help me if you'd share them. Thanks.

Pit zones! Dig a hole, designate it a pit zone, assign the gobbo to the pit, profit.

Though I usually just chain them up.
