Disclaimer: I'm not in a very economically stable or well off position so updating my hardware or getting a PC aren't options that are open to me.So I'm currently running on Snow Leopard (10.6.
and have been for some time now. I like it well enough and never really intended to upgrade to Lion/Mountain Lion at any point since I'd heard bad things about them.
Thing is, though, less and less new stuff (read: games) supports 10.6.8 and it's becoming a bit of a pain to see a game I'm interested in requires Lion or something and I can't play it despite meeting other system requirements. So along comes Mavericks, which I've heard good things about (so far) and piques my interest. It's just that I'm not entirely sure that upgrading is a smart idea. My mac is fairly old and doesn't exactly have primo specs. It runs what I want it to run well enough but it's sort of sitting on the bar and I feel like upgrading will put a bit more strain on than it can handle.
I'd also heard that DF has trouble running in Lion; is this a problem that has persisted into Mavericks?
