You keep moving towards the building. It only takes a slight adjustment to set you up to smash through a window. You hurtle over a dining table, thankfully empty, and take a running leap towards a window on the other side of the building.

As you smash through though, your feet clip the sill, and you do a double front-flip, smashing your chin into the cement sidewalk on the other side, and rolling into the street. You're dazed for a few seconds.

You've wasted valuable time. The Red Puella is out fo your sight again, and the signal from your Soul Gem is getting faint. You have a faint sense of foreboding, though it's hard to get a bead on. You probably wouldn't notice it if you weren't already paying attention.

It takes a second, but you latch onto the signal from your soul gem. You lance forward, cutting through an alley and over a chain link fence. A dog starts barking as you blur past, a brown/green smear racing through the alleys.

Your leg fucking hurts. You think it's broken.

You ignore it. You climb up a building, drawn by your strange, ephemeral connection to your soul gem, and as you crest the top you spot a flash of red. It's the Red Puella! You seem to have gained on her.

You sprint hard, hoping to catch up to the Red Puella. You leap from the edge of the building, sailing through the air, over the next building, and directly into the wall of the next.

You lie stunned at the bottom of the alleyway for a while. The distance from your soul gem increases rapidly, and then slows, and stops. Your chase might be almost over. But is that a good thing?

You concentrate on healing your leg. Luckily, your soul gem hovers around the same area. You don't want to think about what would happen to you if you lost it and Kyuubey found out.

It's a patchy job; regeneration isn't really your thing. Anyone could look at the crooked, broken figure you cut and know you're not healthy. But you can run on it (kind of) and stand up (painfully)

You limp around the building in front of you, and find yourself at a dead end of brick walls. There are a few backdoors here... Your soul gem is somewhere below you.
