caravans come back to mountainhome in midwinter, and they are talking about a new outpost where doors get locked by themselves. dwarves there also report that  during uneasy sleep they hear strange typing sound, and feel someone is, "reading their mind", as one of them puts it. there are missing people, too. a dwarf with four pet cats has been missing for awhile. the last time people saw him, he was eating pond turtle and suddenly decided to go to a remote chamber where there is only a drawbridge that occupies the whole room.
