Real Challenge for you pro Dwarfs
« on: April 29, 2014, 06:22:20 am »

I just got a really funny idea!  Make Blue whales domesticated so that you can take it on embark... now embark on an evil biome with one! :)

Is this possible?  It'd be funny to see how fast you could get inside before the whale dies and kills you all. lol

Yes, all aquatic animals can move on land as zombies, but due to having no legs they are permanently prone, meaning they are slow. The problem here is that NPC dwarves very rarely build mountain halls in biomes that allow blue whales, thus you can't buy them on embark.

Mod whales so they live on mountains.

Urist McSpeardwarf likes Mountain Blue Whales for their ability to defy all known laws of marine biology.

I really want to mod in land whales now.
Identical to Armok-fearing aquatic whales, but with hilariously tiny legs.

Why have land whales when you could have sky whales?  ;)

Land whales are better because they don't get stuck in mid-air when pathing gets interrupted :P

Will they have many legs or just four? Because lots of tiny legs is funnier.

Cool, but wouldn't this likely lead to tongues having a '[SPEACH]' tag, and thus via necromancy we would have nearly unkillable reanimated tongues following necromancers spamming 'it is sad but not unexpected'?

Yeah.
Maybe there will be two varieties: a small, panther-sized bipedal one and a normal-sized one with forty legs.
All legs will be the same size.
Even though the latter is much, much bigger.
