A bit after the update that introduced wheelbarrows and minecarts ive had to leave df for a little while and then after than i couldnt play because my pc died and then etc etc its a long story.
Ive seen quite a few new features but id like a full list of em, id also like to know whats going on about on the forums and whats going on.
Ive also had a few questions id like to ask i will just throw in this topic.
- After digging down deep and greedily ive had the issue where a fisherdwarf got sutured with a few thousand dwarfbucks worth of sutures (yeah, that material, if you dont know about what im talking you will know it after digging deep and greedily i wont spoil it for you) is there any way to prevent that waste? Also would it be possible to get back those sutures and use them for the purpose i actually wanted them to? Even if it means salvaging them from his corpse after an unafortunate accident.
- How much time does it take to get knowledge about taming creatures? ive been training 2 dingos and 3 dingo pups for a bit to get some XP for my animal trainer but keeping a few of the dingos around to use them later on would be great and if like to know when i will be able to fully domesticate them.
Edit: i forgot to throw in a lil DF story.
So there was my fortress, the dwarves where building an outdoor building to house an above ground farm and a few windmills to power future contraptions, but a vile force of darkness arrived, 80 goblins and trolls to face 20 dwarves of which 10 were (almost all) axelords leadt by the militia commander and other 10 hammerdwarves ledt by the racently apointed captain of the guard, thus the last 10 hammerdwarves were shabbily trained. Because so far only tetrahedrite and sphalerite was found all of the military were equiped with copper gear with the exception of the silver hammers and salvaged iron gear.
as the goblins arrived i though of just activating the civilian alert to get everyone inside and raise the drawbridge and cower inside the fortress untill the goblins would go away..... But wait would i cower AGAIN? I must say cowering wasnt fun and the fortress didnt have trees nor iron so taking a more advantageous embark would be better so instead i chose for the more FUN option and ordered my shabby military to hold at the bridge, until the enemy got close and then i ordered them to charge as soon as the first dwarves tarted running at them. To be fair i expected the defense to get butchered and the civilians inside the fortress to suffer the same fate afterwards. But i was wrong, massively wrong, the 20 soldiers held on and killed 60 goblins before the siege was broken and all of them retreated. Just 1 death in the hammer squad and 3 wounded dwarves were taken during the siege.
I guess me and the goblins learnt something, DONT MESS WITH AN AXELORD, specially if he is in a martial trance, even if he has copper gear.
Sorry for my bad english but it isn't my native language.
