Yes, oh yes I did.

Anyways, does anyone have a name suggestion for the next party member? The personality and what unit they are is already in the bag but I was thinking of opening this up a little bit to some audience input.

Plus it beats the names of "Wario" and "Balles" and "Goosey the Gander". I do have some actual names in the line but I'd like to ask you guys.

Ah yes, that's what I suspected.

Whatever you want to name him. I'm usually pretty bad at coming up with names and go with the default in most cases.

In a flash of brilliance that all of you will hate me for I have decided on the name: Jackie "Vita Fons" Draper.

I'm sure you can all see where this is heading.

Am I the only one that does not get the reference?

Well... It's a little more obscure than I might like to think. It'll become obvious later on though.

We'll get to know the reference later then.

I like how you blend narrative into that. :)

The MOWE Chronicles: Chapter 1
The Search for Timmoria: Part 4

The following is a journal low-ranking fighter from the Human realms. He was passed over for Knighthood after the death of his fiancé, MyOwnWorstEnemy, was killed during a raid by demons. He has finally been reuinited with MyOwnWorstEnemy, after ten long years. Having been granted the opportunity to be with her again he has gladly devoted himself to Mortis’ cause. He views the undead goddess not as one of death, but of love.

Day 40:

So we’ve been tasked with dealing with the resource shortages. Namely, retrieving our death mana from the empire.

Spoiler: Easily accomplished (click to show/hide)

Well… I guess even the Undead Hordes can have dull days… Well a day not being attacked by Living Armors is a day well spent. MOWE tends to agree.

Day 41:
Well… looks like the Empire is really on top of this resource gathering thing. Not long after MOWE finished planting the rod did we see a young man charging at us.

At first MOWE simply laughed. “A suicidal knight? Come my love. We’ll show him the folly of attempting to harm us.”

However just before my love could paralyze the man we heard a swooping sound from behind us.

Needless to say it was an Archangel. The surprise of seeing her charge us was enough to give the man a chance to slay me. Too bad he was as incompetent as he was handsome. I lost part of my hand to the attack. But there’s not much these healing potions can’t handle. A swift swallow followed by a swifter thrust and I was back to fighting form. Well, right after I kicked the two bodies off my spear.

Spoiler: Badass Murder Time (click to show/hide)

Day 42:

More Pegasus knights… That’s very odd. I would think that the empire would send out Rangers or Archmages but no…

Spoiler: Eternally Knights (click to show/hide)

We’ve seen nothing but Pegasus knights. The first group was already weakened. The second group was a little more than I felt comfortable engaging. I suppose it’s back to the capital for MOWE and Me.

Day 43:

Happy Gravey Time… I don’t even know what to say to this. APPARENTLY that death cult I was talking about the other day celebrates the birth of some all encompassing ghoul named “Gravey”. Originating in Sipsburgh the holiday has apparently spread quite a bit. They roast chestnuts and feed them to Gravey who does some sort of weird dance before going back to torment the souls of his current graveyard.

But… Why would the Undead celebrate another undead? I just can’t wrap my mind around that. Sure, I had fun throwing fire roasted chestnuts at the ghoul who danced as promised but still… Doesn’t Mortis control ALL undead? Why would a ghoul be any different?

I mean, it’d certainly be odd if there were undead outside of Mortis’ control… Such a thing couldn’t possibly happen! Could it? MyOwnWorstEnemy seems to be independent… and Lord Edward, Neku, and Cannon Fodder were all very vocal about their thoughts and opinions. Each and every one different.

Maybe the Undead Horde isn’t quite so singular in their goal as I had been led to believe. How does an undead become independent though? To what degree do they become so?

I think I’ll return to this idea later though. For now I am tired and wish to see MOWE again. Good night Journal.

The following is a journal entry by Neku the infamous necromancer. She has claimed to have been one of the first recruited by Mortis. Though when referring to this event she also discusses how she had been undead for at least four hundred years prior. Any attempts to get her to divulge how this is possible are met with only annoyed sighs.

Day 44:

That fool Nerjin was absolutely shocked to see me floating around today. I don’t see why. His precious MOWE has been killed and resurrected. Why wouldn’t I be able to do the same? Idiot.

Why Mortis has allowed MOWE to keep a pet is beyond me. This is beside the point however. Journal, I have some intresting news. I died again today. However I managed to divine a few interesting facts about the Empire’s presence here.

Spoiler: Frenien (click to show/hide)

As it might be divined I did not survive the engagement. Granted I would not survive anything in my current form. But the fools let slip a small tidbit before my soul left my current body.

“Nostros has nearly succeeded. He says he has found the true path of resurrection. What an idiot.”

Truly they would serve better dead than alive. However this is intriguing. Many years ago I had a colleague named Nostros. He was searching for a way to bring the undead back to true life. I could have my beauty again. After so many years of being dead it would be most enjoyable to walk amongst the living once more. To learn what secrets of the arcane they have uncovered since I have died.

As thanks, I paid my slayers another visit.

Spoiler: It went well (click to show/hide)

Sure I ‘died’ again but it was nothing that a trip to the capital couldn’t solve. But first I had a gift to those idiots MOWE and Nerjin. I’ve never been entranced with the idea of a magical banner. But Nerjin literally begged my initiate to hand it over. I assented. So it is theirs.

Spoiler: Gift of Giving (click to show/hide)

Never-the-less… I think I have more important things to do than chronicle my day. The true path to resurrection… I need to find Nostros immediately.

Day 49:

So many hectic days recently I’ve not gotten the time to write until just now. We’ve fought thief after thief and Archangel after Archangel. Each easier than the last.

Spoiler: Ho-Hum Murder (click to show/hide)

I might be inviting disaster but I hope things pick up soon. Murdering such weak opponents isn’t making MOWE stronger but we can’t fight stronger opponents until we get rid of these weak ones first. It’s all very droll to be honest. Day in and Day out. The only bright side is that MOWE is nearly ready… or so she says. I think she might be lying to make me feel better.

Day 50:

Well… That was exciting to watch at any rate. Seeing a Living Armor in action has always been one of the highlights of my life in the Empire. Yet seeing it on the recieiving end is just as interesting. The way he moves spins and slaughters

Is quite enchanting… So long as you’re not the one being stabbed to death upon a fifteen foot blade. Still, Neku died again. Which isn’t too surprising at this point because… Wait a minute… If Neku can revive so often than can… Oh no… No no no… Not Cannon Fodder. MOWE assures me he won’t come back but… I don’t know. It could happen!

Day 51:
A spy infiltrated our enemies today. But that’s sort’ve the norm. What surprised me was the spy I found creeping around my quarters tonight.

Spoiler: Spy vs Spy (click to show/hide)

Let’s hope our spy is more talented than his counterpart. Really, wearing bright blue might show your allegiance to the empire but it makes you VERY easy to spot in the darkness. I honestly can’t think of a worse color. Maybe red or white… But who would be dumb enough to make their spies wear such flamboyant colors. Anyways I think I’m going to stop writing for now diary… I get the feeling that the next few days will be hectic… Far, far too hectic.
