megabeast cap

I know the initial megabeast amount is the cap for total megabeasts in worldgen, but would dragon (assuming modded to be breedable) eggs/roc eggs hatch if the megabeast cap was already met?

If your animals aren't expendable, you could always station a dwarf or two out there?

The megabeast cap will not prevent your fortress mode megabeasts from hatching

But remember egglaying is buggy and sometimes you need to remove two clutches and start again. (The bugged clutch, and then the clutch the mother of the bugged clutch lays right afterwards.)
