Cage Trap help
« on: February 27, 2014, 06:53:21 pm »

Hi, I am trying to set up a SINGLE cage trap.

I only have a single cage available in the fort, it is of artifact quality. When I set up the cage trap I can choose which mechanism to use, but not which cage. Even if I build another cage (like a simple wooden one) there is no menu to select which cage.

Also the artifact cage doesnt appear to get loaded into the trap automatically. Help?

Note: I can build the artifact cage np, it just doesnt seem to be used for the trap...

Cage traps have a cage put in them after being built, you never get to pick which. I don't think they can use artifacts.

Yeah, I resorted to let them use normal wooden cages and then transfer the prisoner later (which worked surprisingly well). My nobles now have an artifact mussel shell cage with a butt naked female goblin dancing for them in their dining hall.

It gives them happy thoughts.

I don't understand why you need magma.

Well done OP, you've inadvertently weaponized ghosts.

She'll eventually escape, due to a bug where artifact cages are the only ones from which creatures can escape.

It's supposed to be the other way around: every other cage should be escapable except artifacts; but as it stands, that butt-naked goblin will eventually get out and start terrorizing your populace until some nearby guard or hunter kills her.

Hmm I was under the impression from the wiki article that only vermin can escape artifact traps, not creatures. Well, for now shes sticking around. Maybe she enjoys dancing for my nobles.
