Hello I just recently found out how to (kinda..) play DF. I am having trouble with strange moods, I understand that the dwarf will claim a workshop and "request" materials by "shouting". My strange mood dwarfs do claim workshops, however they do not "request" or "shout" for items, but... they don't make anything and still go insane.. any pointers?

Requested items will always be picked up in order, starting from the base material. If you have a dwarf in a mason's shop and you pick out a loop of gem, metal bar, rock, and cloth, then the first thing you'll need is the rock.

Bear in mind that silk, yarn, and plant cloth are all different things when it comes to moods. If a dwarf wants cloth and isn't telling you which kind, then make sure you have all three kinds availabe.

Also, you can check their preferences, dwarves tend to ask for stuff they like. If your metalcrafter who loves rose gold goes into a mood, he'll probably ask for some rose gold. You can use this to narrow down what you need, instead of just getting everything
