Sorcery as military skill?
« on: February 13, 2014, 02:30:08 am »

Just a short question:
Does sorcery count as a regular military skill and can dwarves with it and a civilian skill be drafted without penalties?

There's the Magic Weapons user skill, not sure if its directly related to Sorcery.  I'm pretty sure that any dorf other than an Arcane Dwarf learns that extremely slowly, and they don't get the spells that go along with the magic weapons.  They'd just end up shooting magic missiles very inaccurately, and never really improve.

Likes nether horror for their ability to turn people into eldritch horrors. Seriously, what is wrong with that dwarf.

Not quite was I was looking for. Let me rephrase it:
When you embark without any dwarves that have military skills and you draft them, they loose happiness. That's why you should always put a point in a military skill if you embark in dangerous territory and might need a militia quickly. I am just wondering whether sorcery works the same way and negates the penalty on happiness when I draft my (arcane) dwarf.
