The big reason ER got the child board is both as an experiment to see if this kind of thing would work, as well as to make it so the game wasn't constantly taking 4-7 page 1 slots. We only ever have at max 2 FeF games going full swing from what I can tell, with others jumping to the front at different parts of the day, and I do think it will die down in popularity in time.

FEF 14: Sharknado of Blood
Pardon me, I need to brainstorm what sort of story this would be.
1. Weather-control machine.
2. Sharks.
3. Sharks eat people and control the weather.
4. Blood sticks in tornado.
That was boring.

Everyone knows sharks love blood. What not everyone knows is that in some sharks, this lust becomes are all-consuming and ruinous as a sickly human lust for gold.

In times long past, there was one such empire of sharks, wealthiest in all the seas. Yet even this was not enough for them, and they yearned for ever greater riches. To dark powers they turned, as their hearts became corrupted with a deep, insatiable greed. Their forms warped and their empire fell, rotted through from within. To others, they perished under the weight of their own sins.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

The vile Matriarchs of Shish-Krkr survived, sustained by their unholy powers and unnatural lusts. Deep they slumbered for a time, gestating their powers and biding their time. And then... a sign. The Blood Moon, an omen irresistible to certain unholy things that would feast upon the very heavens if given the chance. From the ruins of ancient Shosh-ok, once-mighty capital of the vanished Shish-Krkr, a tornado erupted. A tornado not of wind, but of sharks. Sharks and blood.

A Sharknado of Blood.

I think there is one aspect that has not been fully considered in this conversation. What about, unrelated threads that don't deal with games specifically in themselves, but game theory? As it stands, there is no real proper forum to ask questions or form collaborative projects. Having a forum in itself could be conducive to that idea.

The problem I have with that is that one thread can mostly cover all those needs until they become mature enough to warrant some other form of communication. I get the feeling a Meta subforum would just be Gamer's Block followed by a bunch of dead "How does RP work?" and "What does GM stand for?" threads, with the occasional "Let's create/remove a subforum" sprinkled into the mix. Maybe some "Would anyone be interested in X?" thrown in for good measure.

I could kind of see some kind of stickied Forum Games Help or similar, but even that'd probably overlap/replace Gamer's Block.

It sounds interesting.

Well, the good thing about that is that there would be less of the stupid question threads (since they'd be easier to find), and probably fewer subboard threads (ditto).

I don't think it's super necessary. Granted there are like 6 games running right now, I bet that's going to be the high end of the number, since for the most part it's most of the same people taking part in several games. If there were more, I'm willing to bet most players playing now wouldn't actually join up. I know I'm at my limit.

Of course, that's not really anything someone else hasn't already said.

But since it was brought up, I plan to run another FEF after Nature of Humans comes to a conclusion. But not immediately, I have no story for it yet.

Personally... I would love to see a mode where players are competing against each other, possibly on a more micro level with each player controlling squads as opposed to individual heroes. Where neither side is really the hero, but instead they are just two groups tied by fate to be in conflict with one another.

I considered doing an arena FEF, since it'd be FEF but bite-sized enough to not be a huge commitment.

Needless to say, I didn't. :x

It happens! I could see something with a larger scale though... Where two players are placed at the heads of nations, with one large map to traverse. Some type of game type where spies and mountain warriors could actually come in handy as the two kingdoms fight over materials to arm their soldiers, who of course are controlled in the olde fashioned FE style.

But I don't have nearly the expertise to take such an endeavor on, so it's just that... An idea.
