You make a good point though. I haven't even considered using the program to plan my fortresses... Seems very obvious now.

About the caps lock thing, you are right. I think I looked into that months ago, and in the language I am working in, enabling caps look would be really annoying unfortunately. I hope it isn't too much of a problem.

About the graphical bugs, are you still having them? I have never had any, and this is the first I hear from someone else.
If you still have them, a screenshot would be great! No idea if I can fix whatever it is/was, but I would certainly take a look.

The typing an n -> new image sadly is another problem with the language I used here. It thinks you are holding down the Ctrl key sometimes, when you are not. Hitting Ctrl again usually fixes that.

The graphical bugs seem to start occuring after I use the maximize button that comes with windows. Guess it must be something with that.
Sometimes some part of the screen (the drawing area) won't update, and panning around will caues only a part of the screen to pan.

Can't seem to effectively reproduce them, but I'm using windows 7 and an AMD mobility radeon 5560 card, if that's relevant.

Strange... I had things like that at the very beginning of development, but that is now almost two years ago and I thought I fixed that, hmm..

What version of Windows do you have?

Very strange. I was using W7 till recently and never had those issues...
(The graphics card should not be a problem in this situation..)
Oh well, it does not sound like it happens all the time, so that is at least something.

I think I should mention what the Linux terminal said when trying to run this with Wine:
I ran the command:

wine advASCIIdraw.exe

This gave:

Yep, you guys SO make me want to play DF now.
If I could just afford to lock myself away for the next week or so...

About that error:
I have no idea what to make of that I am afraid. It does look like something deep in the programming environment that I used...
Also just googled a bit, and it seems that programs written in it generally don't run in wine. So that sucks.
