How to give Invaders Weapon-grade metals?

I tried to mod the materials the invaders get a bit, so they dont try to fight me with silver and rose gold swords, because thats just dumb, i guess thats a problem many ppl know.

Before i did that, i tried out the new materials setting in the UI, which doesnt really seem to work.

Maybe i overlooked something, but it seems like invaders use metals they find in the earth, instead of these you give them with specific reactions like:

they just dont seem to work for any reason.

at least not with every civ... i changed the mats of most races, started a new fort with 7 legendary dwarfes and let them invade me via "force siege"

it worked for the orcs, they had steel, mithril and bronze after, frost giants however tried to beat me with their wolfram swords... even if they should have wolfram AND bifrost now.
but i never seen a single bifrost item yet.

same goes for automatons...

they really should only have deepbronze now... but they attack with silver swords and fancy rosegold bullets instead-.- xD


i really dont get whats the problem... my best bet is that the invaders cant run the reaction for some reason and use standard materials instead... i hope someone can help me here >.>


oh and meph... better update your UI for non standard and FD races :D

(there is no harder invader setting :P)

Thats an old and replaced setting. Check the race section of the GUI, each invader has its own dropdown menu about materials now.

yes, thats true and i tried that.

they still come with the usual crap-tier weapons for some reason...

as i said, i think some races cant run the reaction for some reason, since it works for the orcs...


still, adding bifrost to the frost giants doesnt work either..

this line is used by them if i leave the setting on default:

[REACTION:FROST_GIANT]
   [NAME:giants invade]
   [BUILDING:GREENSKIN:CUSTOM_ALT_C]
[PRODUCT:100:4:BAR:NO_SUBTYPE:INORGANIC:WOLFRAM][PRODUCT_DIMENSION:150]

now if i add the line

[PRODUCT:100:4:BAR:NO_SUBTYPE:INORGANIC:BIFROST][PRODUCT_DIMENSION:150]

they should have bifrost and wolfram weapons... but they still only wear wolfram..


maybe i'm overlooking something... but i really cant tell where the problem is...
