Cleaning Forgotten Beast Frozen Extract
« on: January 12, 2014, 10:54:08 pm »

I trapped a forgotten beast with poisenous breath into a pit and after dropping several dead war dogs and goblin prisoners in the pit its dead. The problem is that its "frozen extract" is covering everything inside the pit and I'd really like to grab the goblinite plus a statue I used for bate. So how do I clean it without getting my dwarves infected and then bleeding internally (which is the main symptom).

1. Is the statue a magma-safe artifact?
yes: magma.  (may not actually work.)
no: dwarfhack, or dont' bother. (no I don't know which command to use, sorry.)

-or you could go crazy with suicidal hazmat teams to melt it down. the hazmat gear is to keep them alive long enough to melt the stuff.

This is a masterwork ledger.  It contains 3719356 pages on the topic of the precise number and location of stones in Spindlybrooks.  In the text, the dwarves are hauling.

dump the gear outside, wait for it to rain, wait for the puddle of frozen extract to wash away, reclaim and collect.

Internal bleeding will toughen 'em up. You youngsters these days with your complex plans to avoid pain... DWARF UP!

Non sarcastically, you could just make sure that the goblinite you claim is immediately melted and ensure that your furnace operators have gloves. I'm not certain, but I'm pretty sure that gloves/shoes will prevent your dwarves from coming in contact with the poison from the floor (shoes) or from the item (gloves).

Jam a door with its corpse and let all the goblins in. Hey, nobody said it had to be a weapon against your enemies.

And then everyone melted.
