Refuse pitting?

Is it possible? I'm trying to get dwarves to throw bones and dead invaders into a pit.

It can be done by dumping, but not with a refuse stockpile.  Just designate a dump zone next to a hole, and the dwarves will dump objects into the hole.  Any open space works.
