Pretty much any of the other Paradox grand-strat series, each set in a different time period. IIRC Total War: Empire and Empire II were full-earth maps, though Rome and Shogun were both better games, and presumably Rome II is as well.

IIRC Total War: Empire and Empire II were full-earth maps.

Err there wasn't a Empire 2.

Also, Empire Total War didn't really have a full earth map, it had India, Europa and parts of North and South America and a few sea regions(Aka only for ships to go, no land to actually capture) of Africa, south America and the east indies, but that was it, it was definitely not a full earth map.

I think Flying Dice is referring to Empire Earth... Which did have a sequel.

No, I just lost track of which Total War games are which because I haven't played any of them in a damned long time.

If we're going by that standard, then vanilla EUIII isn't full-earth either because of all the wilderness regions you can't move on or colonize.

Supreme ruler 2020 is pretty awesome.
I also enjoyed supreme ruler 2020 though it feels kind of un-polished with for instance a lot of units the ai won't use which mean they just sit around in huge piles (most slower units). The next game in the series, cold war improves a bit on that and has a bit of interface improvements but I really disliked the whole cold war thing there compared to the previous games as it was mostly the same thing every game. The main reason I'm not really looking forward to the ww2 game they're making now.
Another feature I find it really lacks compared to paradox's games is forming or releasing countries. Anything that's conquered is out of the game with no way back which makes the game feel a lot less alive. Oh, and by the way it runs pretty slowly. Especially on older computers.
That said the game is pretty fun, if a bit easy.

But neither EE1 or EE2 has a map of Earth, as far as I know.

I thought the second had a mode where you basically take over the earth

I vaguely remember there being a world-map-map in EE but I also remember the maps being as small as my back yard (it is small).

The third EE had a "conquer the world" thing, but the third EE was garbage.

When asked how you'd be able to see, he said that your first eye would have healed by then.

Hey, it's a strategy game about aliens trying to conquer Earth, and takes place in the past. That fulfills all the criteria perfectly :P.
