Having some problems with the mod

Oaky, so I know that there's probably a help thread around, but I'm having some interesting problems that I can't seem to diagnose, but are probably really trivial.

As an aside, I have never played this mod before, and I'm only an amateur DF-player.

1. When I embark as kobolds with the ogre, for whatever reason I don't actually receive the ogre, and I can't add them on embark.
2. I cannot seem to find any caves. I don't know if this is due to the tileset, as I have "visible caves" on and I don't see the telltale dots that signify caves.
3. I don't know how to tell if it's working; as kobolds I still can build any of the dwarven things, or at least they are listed, such as the structures listed under "dwarvica manufacturia," "higher dwarven learning," et cetera.

Hmm... This is the ogre-included embark profile? Do you get an error on embark at all? I don't play kobolds myself, but it seems odd if they're not available.

Which tileset are you using? I know I can spot them fine with Spacefox, and I seem to recall not having too much trouble with the default tileset. You had 'visible caves' turned on before you generated your world, yes?

I'm not a Kobold player, so I'm hoping someone else can jump in here. Are kobolds supposed to have access to dwarven tech from the beginning?  (I know with Orcs they need to raid blueprints first.)

Its not dwarven tech, I think its just the titles in the menu. I will check and change them. Previously it was "WORKSHOPS", but at some point I made them more lore friendly, and added fancy names. Now they dont fit to the orcs/kobolds anymore.
