Just a note, according to the original announcement on the L4D2 group page if you don't start at least downloading before the giveaway ends then it will return to full price. Whether this will remove it from your library if you haven't started the download is not clear.

I'm not sure that's right; it's just that the button on the store page says "install" instead of "add to cart". They gave away portal for free a few years ago and I didn't download it right away.
