Seiges will cross any distance, right?

I ran a 100 year history, and luckily, there does appear to be one necromancer tower. However, its at the opposite corner of the map from the awesome site I found, but they're connected by land, so a siege should come eventually, right?

Towers only siege if they're within... I think it's 11 of the large tiles, 11 of the 16x16 embark region tile group things what is even the terminology for this crap. You can check if a tower is near enough to attack by looking at the screen for finding an embark that lists whether you have gobbos and elves and humies and dorfs to bring you presents. If there's a tower in that list too, then you can have rotting presents. If there isn't, gotta move closer.

When possible, she prefers to consume pear cider and nectarines. She absolutely detests kobolds.

Civilizations have a very large reach, but towers do not have the same range as civilizations do.

Before you embark, press the Tab key to check out whether they are considered neighbours. If not, then you probably aren't close enough for them to come visit.

Oh, and its 10 tiles. Ten region tiles in each direction (assuming no peaks or oceans in the way) from the tile containing the tower. (The terminology is "region tiles", or "squares," and "local...," world ones don't have a name cause they're not a preset size, that's just a handy map to have.
