I'm having problems placing a magma forge -

Is there anything I can do to get this baby down?

One good idea would be to floor over all but one tile of Magma, then put one of the darker x's on the floorplan over it. The darker x's are impassible and it will keep magma monsters from hopping out of your forge.

I'd guess also that will keep it from being impassible and allow it to be built.

you can't have the central tile over magma

The Magma for forges should be
XXX
MXM
XXX

the left and right middle tiles are impassable, so no problem (usually) with stuff falling in.
As mentioned, the middle tile should be a floor

but I can't place the forge over the corner of the magma - http://i.imgur.com/jsxFYbG.png

I've never found this this difficult before.

It says you can't get to an anvil and a magma-safe building material from there.

Ah, ok - I thought this was just an access issue, but since building some stairs, I'm getting the same result.
