Not sure if most of you saw my thread mentioning I completely annihilated an elven caravan, but like mentioned in that thread, I am a horrible trader and got tired of making bad deals making merchants leave, so when an elven caravan arrived I wiped it out of existance by causing a cave-in above the caravan and murdering the surviving elves.
The "incident" took place about one in-game month by now, and a few in-game weeks ago I noticed that the rotting elven corpses were still there, and designated the corpses to be dumped into my atom smasher and smashing the corpses.
Now, they still lie there, untouched, and they dont seem to be causing miasma(or at least, passing dwarves dont seem to get a bad thought in their "thoughts and preferences" screen). Nobody is touching them, even though one copse lies exactly in the middle of my primary hallway, and another one is lying where my depot used to be.
I want these gone so I can rebuild my depot for more annihilating :3
But seriously, how do I remove them?

Check them : Are they forbidden? (you can auto-forbid enemy corpses and possessions in one of the menu)

lots of stuff gets automatically forbidden on death, so that could be it. If the places where they are rotting were open to the sky, check if 'dwarves gather refuse from outside' is on in the (o)rders (r)efuse options.
