No Caravan (Civ exists, has heros and I am not besieged)

Title says it all. I had caravans for two decades or so (except during sieges). Then they just stopped showing up. My civilization has leaders and I am not besieged in the fall. What happened? Since then I am not receiving migrants and I'm beginning to lose ground.
