B12 Pathfinder: Project Obari

Warning: gigantic image incoming.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

About half an year ago, I've stumbled upon this magnificent grand campaign called Obari Trading Company - OTC. The idea was that instead of having fixed members within a party, the campaign had a 'pool' of numerous players and GMs it could choose its members from while maintaining a persistent world. So essentially, the campaign was modular in nature. GMs developed modules for players of certain level range that takes about 3 to 5 weeks to complete, while players freely chose which modules they wanted to participate in. The campaign took place in the world of Golarion, official world of pathfinder, specifically around the area of Obari ocean.

The campaign had dozens and dozens of players, but not many GMs. Thanks to a GM who designed a truely professional quality module with fantastic music and dialogues, the bar was raised a little too high, no further campaign modules were introduced. Unfortunately, it had to come to an end. A monumental failure for something so magnificent.

So! I want to start it again. But here, with you, not random people on the internet. Well, you are still random people on the internet, but you get the point.

The world is NOT going to be Golarion, using the official material led to many, many many many many disputes between players, and disputes between players are bad.

I am looking for both players and GMs at this stage of the project. I am specifically looking for GMs who will brainstorm the world with me. When we are 'finished' building the basic structures of the world (read: fancy names for places that we are probably never going to visit), I am planning on commissioning the map on Cartographer's Guild. Once we are done, we can boot it up, and have some quality time together. So don't be afraid, even if you have no experience with pathfinder or DnD in general, as long as you've got imaginations, you will be fine.

You can send me a pm or leave a post, either is fine. I'll look forward to hearing from you guys.

I'm interested in playing as part of this.  If required I can do a mediocre job as a GM but honestly I'd rather play.

If not under Neotemplar look for Vellum.

Here's what I've got so far:

The world is going to be low-fantasy for the most part. I feel that utmost abundance in magic tends to deviate the gameplay from actually having fun from doing adventures to 'Oh I got a +4 longsword of flame now, now my character completely outclasses yours and can kill you in one hit'. I find that very insipid and it does leave a bitter aftertaste. Magic is still out there, but for the most part, they are either hidden, rarely practiced, or shunned. The most a normal person can access magic is when they visit a healer from sickness. So I should clarify, divine magic, mostly healing is fairly common, but arcane magic is not. I have no intentions of hindering magic users, they'll still get their spells and whatnot, but I'll introduce some new house rules to deter magic a little bit. (For crafting, nothing else.)

I'm thinking a mediterranian-esque world, with humans (seemingly) being dominant. Humans form coastal city states, wages wars against each other and formes alliances. Borders constantly change, client states form, just about everything that has actually happened during the classical period of human history.

Other races are present too, dwarves in the north, elves in the forests, etc etc, fairly mundane stuff. Brainstorming some more later.

Hey there, don't want to put off anything in the way of Pathfinder, but recently I found a Low Fantasy System known as Iron Heroes. Only has ONE Magic Class and even then the Magic in this system is as you put it, very scarce. Check if out if interested...
